Default Vert Seal Grease?

Does the seal on a Vert top need to be greased occassionally? If so, where exactly?

The part number for the GM dielectric silicone grease is in your Owner's Manual. Part of the Owner's Manual requirements under Appearance Care.

Seems to me the grease can get pretty messy...i.e. on my shale vert top. Any alternatives? Where is it really needed?

You don't need very much grease. I have an Oak top and have had no problems. I only put it on the weatherstrip - a little goes a long way.
