Sorry to tell you that Chiltons does not have a manual for a C5. The only real option is the 3 volume GM set. Check e-bay: you might be able to get them for under $100. I think they run around 120-140 from the suppliers to the left.
PS - I know it's not cheap, but it will be the best $ you will spend on your vette.

Probably the sensor, but could be the guage also. I would replace the sensor first.
