For the last week every time I shut off my headlights my drivers side headlight makes a severe grinding noise when it goes down. It only lasts for about 20 seconds though.
What is this??? Will it be covered under my warranty???
It's pretty sad, I am a G.S.M. of a car dealership and I am affraid of having it fixed... Goes to show my faith huh!!
We had it go after warrantee.
It will be covered, unless you let them
bull with you. It is a common problem
that usually only affects the right lamp.
It is the motor going. It cost us about 275. to fix it outside the dealer. Fix it
before the motor goes or you will not be able to move the headlamp up and down.
Just had mine repaired .... claimed the motor went bad. It would go down and then grind and small round **** would spin freely for 10 seconds after fully down. Unfortunately two motors later and they had to replace the entire mechanism under warranty. Seems all that grinding is the motor trying to pull the light down further and warped the frame itself. Check yours for a pop when fully up after repair.
I'm gonna take it in on monday. I've been letting all of my warranty issues build up before I take it in. This way it's only in once. Their just the normal repairs. Memory seats not working, headlights grinding, gas guage messing up, seat rocking,.......
