Here is a pic of a frame saver. It mounts on the front brackets by your air dam.
The rocker rails mount on the underside of the body, between the wheels. They are protection for high centering, while the frame savers protest you on approaches.
There's something else too in addition to the rollers. They are strips of metal that get screwed into the undersides of the car. I'm pretty sure that I ordered the rollers and the strips from Andy at A&A. They're gonna come in handy when I get mine lowered next Thursday!
I also believe the rocker rails are advertised as being able to support a jack. Therefore, no need for pucks or blocks of wood. The jury is still out for me, but maybe there are some people in here who have had some experience.
There are some rails that also incorporate a jacking puck which is a pretty cool feature. But the ones that I got from A&A were sold solely for the purpose of protecting the underside of lowered cars.
Hey guys thanks for the responce
Could you please give some information on A&A or who ever you got your fame rails or casters from, I am ready to get lower but sure don't want to mess up the bottom of my baby.
I am assuming that this is for the most part a straight forward installation.
It also depends on how low you are. I'm lowered on stock bolts, I've always had the wheels on the front. I don't get high centered but I've been in Racer44's car and he scraped my hemmorhoids off in a parking lot.
I'm going on memory on where I got them, but I'm pretty sure that it was A&A Corvette Specialties up in Ventura, California. I seem to remember that A&A use to be a supporting CF vendor, but I'm not seeing them off on the left anymore. Just do a Google search and you can find their contact info. There are many CF members who have had a lot of good things to say about Andy at A&A over the years. Good luck.
lager99...did you weld your frame savers to the front brackets or just bolt them? I've been looking at doing this mod, but I don't have any way to weld them to the bracket. Thanks.

I just bolted them. I actually remember this arguement coming up some time ago...it didn't sound like very many people welded them.

I've had them on my '99 for a few years now. At first I just bolted them but when I checked them a month later, one was gone. They will come off with the first good whack that hits at a bit of an angle. I just put a set on my Z and I noticed Andy changed his install sheet from just suggesting you might want to get them welded to adding that as the last step.
It's really no big deal since any muffler shop can do it in five minutes and then they do stay on pretty good. I'm going to get my new ones welded when I go in for an alignment monday.

Sorry, I don't know what kind of hit you did on your front end, but there is no need whatsoever to weld them on. Also, Andy has mentioned on his instructions about welding for years now.
