The only time I've had the problem was after installing the Hurst shifter & forgetting to reconnect the switch.
There is a manual release cable in the trunk, behind the carpet over the left wheelwell.

There's a release. On my convertible, it's a silver cable coming out around the waterfall area.

I had the same thing happen to my C5 and Eldo. You need to lube the little pin that holds the latch closed. You heard the click because the solenoid pulled the pin back but not far enough to release the door. Mike

In your Owner's Manual there is a section on the manual cable release for the fuel door, easier than prying it open.

Never had to use the manual release, but I know it is there.

Gas door
Had the same problem with mine,,,,was not getting any power from the door opener button to the gas door release solenoid. Ran a bypass wire from the door opener button to the gas door release solenoid and it has worked great every since. Be careful prying it open as you could crack the fiberglass gas door.

Mine did that to me two days ago, but I pushed the door in a bit and it popped right open and hasn't been a problem since.

Crowbar anyone?
I guess a dab of lube on the actuator pin from time to time wouldn't hurt.

ACTUATOR pin, thats the name of the part, couldn't think of it, thanks. I don't think he really had to pry it open, it was probably right on the edge of opening like the other guy that pushed it in to relieve the presure on the ACTUATOR pin to release it. Little dab L do ya. Mike
