Can any one please confirm if a C5 takes 12X1.5 lugnuts? I need to buy some thin lug nuts for my new wheels.

Yep, M12 X 1.5 cone seat lug. Take a look at the McGard line of lugs and locking lugs. They are triple chrome plated, come with a lifetime no rust warranty and are some of the highest quality I have found:
