Well guys I can finally say that I am a True Z06 bother, after ten long days of anticipation with every Chevy dealer is So Cal looking for a Machine Silver Z06 I did take possesion today at 2:00, six hours later with frequent stops to show it off I have 320 miles on her and after a good Saturday cruise I will do my first oil change some time on Sunday, next week I'll change the trans and rear end oil with Royal Purple Gear Oil.
My Question is, the local Chevy Guru said that to break in an LS6 so it fast you have keep the RPM's up, never below 2500 and 3500 and that how the first 300 miles went on. What Say's You Z06 Experts.
For break-in you want to drive it "spiritedly" but not super hard. To me that means a few things 1. No WOT for 500 miles 2. No RPMs over 5000 for 500 miles 3. No constant speeds or engine RPMs (don't go on a long road trip on crusie control)
Basically shift gears a bunch get on the gas a buynch and change speeds/throttle a bunch.
BTW I've always heard that you want to give the tranny etc. a few thousand miles to break in before you change the fluid.
