Default WHEELS!!! help me choose...

looking at this wheel:

or this wheel:

i'm planning on 18"x10" all around. the BBS wheels are 18x10 with a +54mm offset. 2 piece, fully forged.
the SSR wheels are 18x10.5 with a +62mm offset. welded 2 piece, silver finish.
planning on running 295/35zr-18, probably kuhmo MXs.
only thing i'm curious about is the 8mm difference in offset. what is the factory offset and how much further in will the SSR wheels go in compared to the BBS or OEM wheels?
also, not real familiar with SSR. anybody know about them? i'm a little concerned because they're about $300 less than the BBSs but that puts them right in line with most of the replica manufacturer prices.
anybody have any other suggestions?

Default Vote for BBS or CCW

I really like the looks of the BBS and CCW wheels. Very nice.

What will running the same width tires on the fronts and backs do to the handling? I assume that it will change from slight understeer to slight to moderate oversteer. Probably nothing traction control / active handling can't correct for.

It would be nice to be able to rotate the tires.

Default My input...

I have the SSR GT3 wheels on my 98 vert. I was looking at Ronal's or the SSR's and because the SSR's were considerably less money I decided to go that way. Man, was that a good call. The guys at Xtreme Motorsports told me that the SSR wheels are excellent quality, even superior to the Ronals. I'm extreemly happy with them and can't believe the attention they get. Here's an example: I just came from Van's Chevrolet in Scottsdale this morning. They had a C6 prototype on display for a couple of hours and a bunch of Corvette guys were invited to come check it out. Of the some 50 or more C5's parked on the lot this morning only one was getting any attention and that was mine. Everyone was checking out these wheels.

Here's a pic of mine with the GT3 wheels. If you haven't considered them, I would really suggest you think about it. They have the same silver finish with polished rims. I'm running 18x9 on the front and 19x10.5 on the rear.

Between your two choices I'd go with the BBS. The SSR GT3 look great also.

Your first image (BBS) look really nice. Have you seen them on a vette?
I looked for 2 to 3 months at various wheels before going with 505As. I
made the right choice for my taste! Look at as many different wheels on
vettes you can find.

According to the book, "All Corvettes are Red", the making of the C5 Corvette, running the same size tires will seriously affect the aerodynamics of the Corvette. Stock a Corvette is 28Cd but they were only able to achieve a 31Cd with the same size tires.

I'd go with the BBS just for the quality aspect. Remember...aftermarket wheels may not meet OEM standards...trust me!

No offense but I recall a friend of mine ran BBS wheels on his '76 Capri and the wheel looks the same today as they did then. I prefer the SSR wheels.
