If anyone has had the plastic seat frame(drivers side, left front corner) crack, what did you do to fix/replace? Is it costly? I knew I should have not had that extra slice of pizza...

p.s., A little more detail since I see you also have a '98: The replacement part the dealer sold me a couple years back was apparently a generic part made to fit both early and later year C5's. It had two forward mounting points... one of which had to be removed with a Dremel tool prior to mounting on my '98. You may or may not receive the same generic part today, but I'm betting you will. Also be extremely careful removing the recliner handle or you will be replacing that part too. I found it easiest to do with the seat out of the car -M

monk, thanks for the reply, do you recall where you've seen the replacement part, that corner broke and I guess I'll fix it myself...

Tech tips has a "how-to". I replaced mine awhile ago and it wasn't that bad. I did have to remove the piece Monk was referring to. (Mine's a 98 too). Hope this helps.

I thought mine had broken and it was replaced. However, I am convinced that all that was wrong was that the seat back leaver cog caught one cog off from the right and left sides and that the seat back wasn't really broken. Simply pulling up on the adjusting leaver while I as out of the car and letting the seat reallign itself fixed it perfectly. The old seat back was just fine and is now hanging on my garage wall.

Too much weight?!
I just keep mine down to 145. Remember, there is a 400 pound weight limit on these vehicles! There's something to being a little guy!
