I have been out of town for a week on business and didn't get to drive the corvette so we drove it to church this morning. After church stopped to do a little shopping. As I was walking away from the car a man in his twenties stops and tells me "That is a nice car man". Tonight we went to get some ice cream. While stopped looking at the menu board two boys about 6-8 years old come running around the corner and say "There it is. That is so cool."
My wife tells me I may have just a little too much influence on these young boys and college students. I reply "Absolutely not. This is great incentive for these guys to work hard in school to get their dreams."
I just love to hear the young ones tell me I have such a cool car. I just grin, tell them thank you remember that I got my dream.
Here's one for you. Driving through the parking lot at Sam's Club and a woman (about 75 yrs old) yells over to her husband, approximately the same age, "Hey Harold, look at that car!" She then yells to me as I'm driving past "That car is beautiful sir!" That's when I knew I have ARRIVED!
Today , my wife and I were shopping at lowes and this girl who works there ask us if she could help us with anything and my wife said she was interested in this one ceiling fan. So the girl goes to get it for us and comes back and ask me if I own a corvette  I said yeah. How did you know that. She said because you have one on your t-shirt Next thing I know shes and I are talking corvettes and my wife is looking for 40watt light bulbs

Yep.....can you blame them?!!! As corny as it sounds, we drive a legend, not to mention a really looking car! Gotta love it!
[QUOTE=blacksedan87]I've had my car almost 9 months to the day - and when I park it, I always turn back and think - DAYUM! That's a great looking car!
I've had mine 2 and a half years and I still do that. They are classics.

I like it too when some young person compliments the car. I try to take the time to give them some info on it also. Never know, they may end up with one someday.
Cool story. These instances always make me feel good about my car. But one of the funnier ones was when I came out of a fast food place to find this older gentleman walking circles around my car while his family waited in their van a couple spots from me.
As I walked up, he nodded and asked, "How much ya gotta give up for something like this?"
I said, "Well in my case I just got a divorce to get the car."
With that a loud female voice came from the van, "HAROLD!! I know what you're thinkin'. You get your azz back in this van right NOW and stop talkin' to him!!
I'm 28 and in my experience, its great when older folks see my car, stop, smile and talk to me about it--its funny how easily the car helps you connect with people--and they love to see that its being driven my someone who isn't snobby, down to earth and friendly--I think that gives Vette drivers a great reputation.
Its great when people my own age come and say its a beautiful car and its great when the ricers acknowledge your car and say "what's up" as they drive by. The teenagers want to hear me rev the engine or want to see my take off a little bit--so I oblige...
Its the best when little kids look at the car mesmorized (I try and keep mine quite shiny). I rev the engine just a bit and it makes them smile...
