Just received my recent copy.... ...some thoughts.

Had a C4, took a while for the C5 to grow on me. It has and I'm now the proud owner of a '04 C5 coup. THe recent CQ mag is dedicated to the C6. IMO, there are some very unflatering pics of the C6. Headlights are plain ugly. Don't know if the C6 will ever grow on me.

Just my two cents.

I thought it was a really good article. I think the C6 has some very attractive features. I will wait until my test drive on August 11th !

Got my CQ in the mail and I can't say that I'm crazy about the looks of the headlight. The cockpit looks great though.

I suppose it will take a little getting used to. The changes in the C3's were subtle enough - and then It took a while to warm up to the C4. My 1st C5 (2001) and current C5 (2004) were love at first sight.

The C6 is a CORVETTE - and that is all that matters to me.

I really love my new 04 C5, but I also think the C6 is a beautiful design--as someone said, "it's a Vette". I really liked the C6 (inside and out) at first site.

It seems to be the angle of the pic. Some off them are terrible other make me horny. I still need to see it in person, but certain colors in that car look sweet.

Seems like there are many varying opinions on the C6. Personally, I think it looks good.

I think it looks like a Mitsubishi 3000GT. Pop up headlights have been on all Corvettes since 1963. I hate to see them go. What's next, the trademark tail lights substituted with some Rice replacements. I hated the C5 for a couple of years when it came out, now I own one. Best looking car I've ever seen now. Guess the C6 will grow on me. After all, it is a Corvette, which has already been said, and I agree. Maybe GM can come up with a better headlight package as an option in the future for those of us who do not like the current ones.

Whenever I see the front end of the new C6, it reminds me of the talking Chevron cars in the commerical. With the license plate bracket installed, it looks like a one tooth Jack-0-Lantern.

I like the C6 and remember the same stuff being said about the C5 when it came out......and the C4 before that. Some people adapt to change better than others, whether it's underwear or cars.

.....and as for the new headlights, I've seen/heard plenty of comments about issues with the popups for years. The new lights will eliminate this potential service issue.

Hide and watch, the car will be well accepted.

I've seen two in person. Beautiful cars as is the C5 but not enough that I'd run out to be first in line for one. I'll wait a couple years and no doubt own one as a replacement for my C5. I make a habit of not buying the first couple years anyway. Look at some of the improvements they made in the C5 between 97 and 00. Not drastic but they are improvements none the less.

To me the front end looks like a Viper. The rest of the car looks
But I won't be getting rid of my '04 anytime soon.

I have been reading and participating in this forum for several years now. I can tell you that this thread (C6) reads very much like threads several years back when the C5 hit the market. The C5 was enough of a break from the the C4, that many members resisted the change.

I find this fact interesting.

The car looks like it is a smiling face with no teeth when you look at the picture in corvette quarterly page 19 sort of a face you would cut out for a pumpkin. The front of the car is to much like many other sports cars.I still love my 2003 C5.

I think I need to see one in the flesh before I decide on the C6. Some photo's of the C6 I like and others make it look too angular with sharp creases which IMO are not pleasing.
Funny, I liked the C5 from the beginning and had a vert on order the week after I saw several at the NCM when GM was putting on a 'show and tell' for the media in July '97.
Seeing a C6 could be and expensive proposition!

Another member posted some of this info originally.

If you purchased a NEW Corvette you should have been entered into a data base and received a free subscription to the magazine for 3 years.

If you have not received it call this lady. I just got off the phone with her and she is excellent. She fixed my subscription immediately and is sending me a copy of the Special Edition today.

Be sure to give her a big thank you!

I guess I am one of the few that thinks the car is pretty bad a$% looking. I like the changes they made as it looks aggressive. I am a big fan. I wish my pocket book allowed me to get one, but I will wait a few years and get a used.
