Default exhaust for my C5

I'm looking into getting a cat-back for my 98 C5(A4). I want one that has nice chrome tips and isn't too loud. At WOT I would like it to sound good, but I don't want it to annoy me. while cruising down the highway.
What is a good cat-back that would fit this description?

Also, I want the chrome plate that goes behind the exhaust tips. Can it work with any exhaut?

Thanks

Check out some GHL's
They sound great at idle and WOT. No resonance.

If you take any other piece of advice and don't like the choice, don't come back complaining about it

1st, find an exhaust you like the looks of, then find clubs/local memebrs in your area where you can listen to the exhausts inside and outside the car, then and ONLY then, make your decision!

Once again, if you make your exhaust decision based on ANYTHING else, don't complain here

Please do an exhaust "search" and you will finds tons of facts and opinions. You also need to hear for yourself.

I can tell you that everyone that has heard my Corsa Indy's really like them--inside and outside of the car.

I think the Magnaflow would be the right choice for you. Tubi Style is a good alternative, but not available in the US anymore. GHL's might be too loud. Corsa's are not fullly polished.

The only other thing thatI would add to MG's sage advice is to listen to the exhaust inside and out at WOT, idle, cruising and an easy roll off from a stop. That way you'll get a true idea of what your getting. I could recommend the Corsa Pace Car system (because that's what I have and love) and you might very well hate them.

I'll throw in a vote for the B&B Tri Flo Route 66 exhaust. Love mine.

My exhaust does not have chrome tips, but they are high polished and look very nice. I have the B&B Route 66 - nice sound, not too loud, etc.

Sounds like GHL Bullets would be a good choice. I originally wanted the Corsa Indy's w/tiger shark tips, but the sound at idle and WOT wasn't what I wanted. B&B PRT's had the sound, but some drone. My search and personal listening convinced me of the GHL's. Your going to live with them for some time, so do your research.

This topic may be a dead horse but we've all asked it once. This is your one time.

Definately look and listen. From my perspective, Bassani and GHL look the nicest. All stainless, no chrome. Both have great sound. Based on what you said, either of these two and the Corsa Pace car's would probably fit the bill nicely. But good like finding either GHLs or Bassani's to listen to. The Corsa's, you will have no problem finding as they and Stingers are the most popular. I like the sound of Stingers but mine is a daily driver and they would beat me down every day.

Have fun!

Check out the Corsa Touring or Pace Car edition with Pro series tips. Sounds like that's what you're looking for.
