Removing chrome ?
How difficult, if possible is it to remove chrome from wheels. Reason I ask is...my wheels are chrome from 98 and they are startin to show a little age. So, what I want to so is have the chrome removed and have them powdercoated black. I wanna do this with the thin 5-spokes since I havnt seen alot of them black. Anyone know what it would cost to have the chrome removed ?

My old 00 wheels were chromed & started peeling. I sold them to forum member Preacher who had them powdercoated black. I don't know what they cost but I'm sure if you PM'd him he'd tell you. They look a lot better powdercoated.

Search for powder coated wheels. There have been some problems with doing this. Depending on high a temperature they bake them to, they can weaken the aluminum wheels. I saw a picture of a wagon wheel that all spokes broke while tracking it AFTER powder coating them black.
