I have a 98 Corvette ,standerd 350 with some slight modifications, automatic. When I really get on the gas from a standstill it does not shift until it reaches 6500 RPMs,it redlines at 6500.Is it safe to let it reve that high ,or should i back off and let it shift.I dont do it often but its fun just to floor it and let it go,and race once in a while. Also does it have a reve limiter?

Yes, the car has a rev limiter. Would I be letting it hit the rev limiter often - probably not. I would be trying to shift a couple of hundred RPM's below the rev limit. Just my opinion. BTW, did you reprogram the redline on your car? I didn't think they normally rev to 6500 rpm.

But, red line on a 98 is 6000rpm. Unless you have the rev-limit reset your fuel cutoff is at 6200 for LS1's at least until early 2001. GM changed the block and rod bolts, among other things, in 2001 somewhere. I don't know if they increased the fuel cutoff at that time. The LS6 has a red line of 6500 and fuel cutoff at 6700.
