Default Rocker panel protectors

Hello all,

I want to buy a set of the aluminum rocker panel protectors that bolt to the frame for our 98 C5. I can't recall where I saw them. Anyone have an address? Anyone used these & if so how do they work? I want them mainly to protect the car when putting it on a lift, I have noticed some scrapes under the car.

Thanks,
Bob

Unless you have waaaaay more money than brains, do not buy these ones. They do not do anything more or better than the ones Andy sells here https://www.aandacorvette.com/cart/s...sp?MainCatID=5 I used to make and sell these and the material is no more than $30 per set. Do they work??? I broke off both fender bolts putting my lowered Z06 on my lift. I installed the rocker panel protectors and and it solved my problems immediately. The rails hang about 1/8" lower than your rockers and that is all you need to keep them safe from lifts, speed bumps etc. You can also jack your car up anywhere along the rails.

racer 44 the bolts you say you broke werethey the ones that hold the back edge of the front fender. If so these bolts extend below my rocker rails. Is there a solution for this?

If it's the bolt that I'm thinking of, the rocker rails have an indentation to cover this bolt. The rocker rail goes right over the top of it.

Contact Andy at A&A Corvettes. Web address given above. The pieces you are talking about have saved a number of member's car from damage.

Yes those are the ones. Are you sure they hang lower? I replaced my bolts with pop rivets. Now maybe the pop rivets' head is not as large as the head of the bolt. But when I checked my car for clearance before putting it back on my lift, the rocker rails hit and the pop rivets had space between them and the lift.(how much I can't remember). All you need is the rail to hang lower 1/16" and it is doing it's job.

Thanks Racer 44 I am sure bolt heads extend below rocker rail. Just a little & a small target /risk wanted to know how you handled it.

Thanks to all for the address, I will order them from Andy at A&A. One more question, are the rollers that go on the front frame rails worth buying? The car is not lowered, but we did have to have the nose painted this spring after bottoming it out a few times last year. We have become much more aware of elevated driveways and road conditions this year. Just wondering about the rollers.

Default Rails and wheels

The rails from Andy have countersinks for the screw heads. I switched to self-tapping screws for an easier install. The frame-saver wheels are worthwhile, too. I'm on my second set of wheels, I scrape them so much.

Thanks for posting this info, I just ordered the combo set from A&A. I just got my 2004 CE on Monday (my first Vette), and I have a driveway that is on a down grade to the garage under my house. Going in is not that bad, I just hear the plastic air dam scraping, but backing out is painful scarping sound. I am too scared to look underneath the front to see what is getting all scraped up.
