any opinions on whether installing a s/c requiring headers to push the extra exhaust out? Have a 03 that I preety much want to keep the stcok sound. No other mods other than cai. Also, what is best s/c without having to get new hood? Don't want to put excessive mods. Use--no track, just 2 or 3 times a month joy riding or cruising the local beach hwy and occassionally kicking some butt with it. Finally, don't know whether to leave the car as is and wait for C6 Z06 and order in 12 months???
It would be interesting to see your gains with full length headers, I was told by a reputable tuner that the stock ZO6 exhaust headers work just fine and the gains from aftermarket headers would not be worth the cost.

Interesting....I just installed a set of Kooks headers with the high flow cats and gained 5 HP and 10 lbs torque....That tuner may be correct.
Although the sound is exceptional it is way too much money for 5 HP, at least for me.
my friend has a supercharged ZO6 done by 21st Century Motorsports and john page said his car didn't need not much gain to be had on the FI application. my friend did though switch cams and ended up with 480+ rwhp with stock headers and exhaust.

IS that right 5 hp and 10lbs of torque just from the Kooks headers with high flow cats????
The B&M supercharger manual is a good book. They state that SC specific cams have a small overlap, usually around 114, that small overlap is just enough for the pressurized intake charge to push out the exhaust without too much intake following the exhaust; therefore the scavenging effect of long tube headers is not needed as on a NA engine. I used a center line of 114 when I built my SC engine, I'm not sure what modern tuners are doing with the LS1/6 family?
