i had this idea a few weeks ago and didnt want to say anything cause someone would steal it then it wouldnt be original
but after calling a chromer they told me it would cost too much and the guy was lazty andidnt want to find out how much
this week when i put my slot drilled rotors on i was holding the caliper and thought
"wow these are really light"
are they made out of alluminum?
has anyone ever chrome plated thier calipers?
am i crazy?
alluminum cannot be chromed to my knowledge anyone know otherwise?
Yeah...its been done. Forum member "VinnyG" seems to be the expert around here on that, I would check with him. I'm sure he will respond to this thread eventually.
If you look at his profile and his sig pic you will see that he has chrome calipers on his car.
Do a search on this topic. I have seen this discussed before, and someone even posted pics of chrome-looking calipers. There's a place you can buy the kit. They look really nice, especially if the center hub ring is painted to match.
Those do look great. You guys are making me do some thinking here...she's gonna really be mad this time
I've been married for 34 years, yes 34 years, she was starting to get on me about mods of lately, so this is what I did,................................ I told her I was going to buy a Harley, she has never said another word about mods for the vette since that day,

She is usually pretty good about some mods...the best thing is to get her around other Vettes, she sees something cool and says "can't you get those for yours?"
