Just depends on how well you think the original Delco will hold up. I switched mine out after I had the car for about 10 months - not because the old one was leaking, but because I wanted to take care of it before it did leak. As far as resetting, you may have to reset the radio, perhaps reprogram the key fobs and tire sensors. Sometimes some of these things retain their memory and you don't have to mess with it.
