Default Chrome Wheels

I am pondering upgrading my wheels on my 2004 ZO6 to a set of chrome repro's. Anybody have any thoughts on this? How is the quality (House of Wheels) vs. the OEM painted? I have the machine silver and I think they would stand out much better against this body color. Opinions on quality and appearance?

Thanks

House of Wheels has an excellent reputation and their prices are great. I was considering the same, the repros are pretty cheap right now. Only draw back with repros and many aftermarket wheels is that they weigh more, sometime a few lbs more per wheel. House of Wheels also offers chromed OEM Z06 wheels as well.

Anyone here have the H.O.W. reros and know how much they weigh?

I have chrome Motor Sport wheels on my Z. I got them from House of Wheels. Very quick service, great price and quality. I didn't weigh them, but lifting them I think they are a little heavier than stock. They are chromed, so I expected that. I think you can tell a little Difference driving too. I would do it again so that is the bottom line. House of wheels has the best prices I could find. They are very well thought of, Go for it.

I have a set from House of Wheels. They really look great on the car. I think there is a group purchase sale going on in the C5 parts section for about $799/set.

I traded my stock rims to Corvettes of Houston and received a set of chromies for $650 or thereabouts. I love mine! I don't care if they weigh more or less because they look AWESOME!!! It's a no brainer if you ask me.

I wanted to put them the chrome motorsports on mine but, they're about 18lbs. more than the stock wheels. I'm not real technical but, they say that it would be additional "unsprung weight" which will make a difference in handleing and 1/4 mile performance.
Check it out first.................just my $.02

Any others? Is the quality as good or better than OEM? The Motorsports look awesome, How much more are they than chrome repros? I guess all those rivets addup to about 4.5 lbs. per wheel!

I think that the CCW's are nice. More food for thought-if you don't have the ceramic pads-apparently the brake dust is a major pain to clean out of those rivets. Thining of driving up to Daytone to look at the CCW warehouse. Hmmmm if I leave now I should get there in....

What does the stock wheel weigh? Anyone have a recommended place to buy light wheels?
