Default Air Intake Requirements

I will be purchasing either a BLackwing or K&N Intake.

The question I have is does the instalation of either intake system require some kind of software upgrade?

Regards,

Deborah

The PCM will readjust in about 50 miles but it does lean out the F/A a small amount.

I have installed the dual snorkel from K & N along with several other mods at the same time. I did not need to make any adjustments, but later reprogramed my computer as another add to the system.

There was anoticable difference in the performance of the coupe with the air intake upgrade. Hope you enjoy the new mod.

You do not need the "software" upgraded w/ an air intake (filter) Also, you can add a cat back exhaust w/ out that either, you should also be able to install headers and a throttle body too

...dont worry about some these guys kidding you...

...Actually it is a valid question considering the alteration from normal operating conditions of the LS1 engine...
...depending upon the range of the volume of air the computer will, given enough driving miles, make adjustments for the change in air volume...
however, I have seen at least one circumstance in which the volume of air exceeded that range...therefore, another mod of the MAF sensor corrected the problem...
The air intake systems you are considering should not require further mods or reprogramming to enjoy the benefits of the better intake system.

PS...really rather strange: I have just been preparing my sermon for tomorrow on the Prophetess Deborah in Judges 4...
...she lead the way to deliver a breath of fresh air to Israel...
Deborah means to do things in orderly manner...

Yes, mine went way down, becuase with the improved SOTP feel, I CAN'T KEEP MY RIGHT FOOT UNDER CONTROL .

Actually, I haven't experienced any improvement in gas mileage, although I had hoped that would be the case. But at 20+mpg, back and forth to work, who can complain

Here's a note for you:

To whom it may concern:

Adding an improved air intake systems greatly improves gas mileage and engine performance for safety reasons. In fact, the more you add the better the mileage and the safer you will be.

Please let you husband modify his Corvette up to and including a Lingenfelter blower (or two).

Sincerely,

At least for the Blackwing, it is just a plug and play. Your computer will relearn the air flow after about 50 miles of driving.
