[Z06] Problem? with Stinger Intake/Air Filter

Problem? with Stinger Intake/Air Filter
Others of you that purchased the Stinger Intake from Halltech, how did you get the air filter onto the MAF?? I tried for about an hour, but the hole is just too small on the filter to go over the 01 Z06 MAF. Is it possible that it is the wrong filter? Do the C5's have a smaller MAF? Thanks in advance.

I think they may have mistakenly sent you a filter for a 97-2000 C5, which has a smaller MAF. I installed a Halltech Stinger on my 04 Z06 and the filter to MAF fit was actually loose until I tightened the clamp. Give them a call. Good luck.

Update: As Jim M suspected, Halltech sent me the wrong filter. Jim Hall is sending out the correct filter to me.

I doubt Quiksilver will have any problem with check engine lights or codes, since he has a 2001 Z06. I did have a check engine light and lean codes on my 2004 Zo6, and put the stock intake back on until I can get the car tuned for the Halltech intake. I believe it's just the late 2003 and 2004 Z's that are affected this way, and maybe not all of them. I think they are tuned leaner from the factory (according to Jim Hall) which may cause the lean codes when the Halltech intake is installed.
