Default Rough Idle

First let me give you the stats on my car. It is an 03 Z06 with 7500 miles. A daily driver with only a few mods. Borla Stingers, Top Flight "X" pipe, and a Vortex Rammer that is giving me problems. (I Think!) Here's what is happening.
Installed the Vortex per instructions for the first time about 6 months ago. After driving for a few weeks I noticed that during warm up, say 94 to 110 degrees, it started missing or misfiring or whatever you want to call it. Basically it felt like a cylinder was not firing correctly. Once it warmed up to 130 and above it seemed to smooth out and ran OK. Posted this to the forum and it was suggested that I check for air leaks and run some Techron through the system. Did as suggested and seemed to fix the rough idle warmup. After a few weeks it came back so I blocked the hole in the shroud with plexiglas and reinstalled the stock intake. At first it was still a little rough during idle but after a day it want away. Drove it that way for about 6 weeks and it seemed to be running fine.
Still having the "want more power" syndrome, I decided to try the Vortex again. Reinstalled according to instructions and guss what? Yep, after about a week to 10 days it started the rough idle again. Is there anything I am missing? I'm sure there are no air leaks and it runs smooth with the stock intake. Could it be the air pump hose that is not getting the flow it is use to from the stock filter? I'm sure I will get some responses to put the stock system back on but as I stated earlier, I am a more power kind of guy and know others use the same intake with no problems. Would performance tuning help? Also, there have been no codes displayed on the DIC during this entire evolution. Any assistance or suggestions will be appreciated.

Cheers,

Jefe

I had the Vortex on my C4 and noticed nothing but $250 missing from my wallet. After reading a bunch of posts on Air Intakes for the C5, I went with the Stinger R for my Z. I have not installed yet, as the wrong filter was sent originally and am waiting for the correct filter to come in. When I was researching them, I did see a lot of people with 03's and 04's needing to have their Vettes dyno-tuned because the 03 and 04 Z's run leaner than the 01-02 Z's. That might be your problem as well...too lean. Maybe someone will chime in here that has had the same type of problem and can comment to that.
