There have been some good suggestions here regarding the 'Stangs, but why give them the publicity...??? I guarantee you that every one of those cats would buy a Corvette if they could...

(That said - I like the 5LTRETR one too! Good suggestion!)

Default My Personalized Plate Pet Peeves...

I love creating, thinking about, interpreting etc... personalized plates but I have pet peeves about them.

PP#1) I think plates should be readable by either using the sound that the letter makes or by using the sound that it makes when you say the letter.

Example:
"B" = "B" or "BE"

PP#2) I hate abbreviations that are not standard. If PP#2 is violated it usually violates PP#1 also.

Example:
2 suggestions above were 1) 5LTRETR and 2) HPADDCT

These do not follow PP#2 in that they both use non standard abbreviations. 1) LTR is not the correct standard abbreviation for Liter (I should know, I'm a chemist). The correct abb. would be "L". 2) uses ADDCT for Addict.

These 2 plates should be 1) 5L ETR and 2) HP ADICT in order to not violate either PP.

I am not flaming and I don't care how you do your own plate. These are my own personal pet peeves and I can deal with it. I just think they are cooler when they follow these "rules" and I think they are easier to decode by other drivers.

I am consicering getting a new plate also.
Old Plate: USE Z 4CE (Use the force) - I like Star Wars and I have a Z06 so I used the "Z" for "the"
New Plate: XS XLR8N (Excess Acceleratin') or (Excess Acceleration - if interpreted by someone who does not follow my PP rules... ha ha.

Here are some others I considered...

RX VETTE (I'm a chemist at a perscription drug Co.
VL VETTE (My vette is black so this could be Black Velvet)
I AUTO X (I autocross - which I do...)
I AUTOX
IAUTOX
MY C5 Z06
MYC5Z06
Z OOH SIX
Z OH SIXY
HP2SPAR (Horse Power to spare)

WAVN VET
MAD N USA (made in usa)
O26OIN4 (zero to sixty in 4)
O26O IN 4
MOD PIT
MOD HEVN (mod heaven)
TORKED Z (torqued Z)
CCTHEDA (Seize the day)
CC THE DA
CZ Z DAY
CZZDA
CZZDAY
IH8BNL8 (I hate being late)
Z XPRT (Z expert)
XPRT Z06
Z06 XPRT
ZOVI (Z06 - the six is in roman numerals)
ZOVI VET
ZOVI 2 XS (Z06 to excess)
XS XLR8N (excess acceleratin')

So in other words, using #1, there's PP (pee pee) in your post?

I really like Eddie44's (O2B-BlWN) but doubt most will get it. I have ACELR8N but wanted ALTREGO, which was taken. IH8PLTS (I Hate Plates) says it all to the other cute vanity plates. There are a couple of really good sites with tons of Vanity Plates, so try a search engine inquiry. Good Luck!

this might sound like a stupid question... but how would i go about getting a plate like this?? ive been thinking about getting one. im sure i have to call the tag agency? they registered my plate in the wrong county anyways... so i have to get a new plate.

how much does this cost?? is it a one time cost, or something you have to pay for every year?

my neighbor was the one to give me the idea...

i just turned 20 (yes i pay for my car MYSELF) so my neighbor suggested something like:

C5 KIDD
SEE5KID

or something along those lines... what do you guys think?!?

Not being rude but you are constantly pointing out your age and that you own a vette. Stop Bragging it is not a big deal to have money and be young. Now go show off for some girlies or somethin lol

i usually dont pay attention to comments like that, but it was kind of uncalled for! nobody asked you to judge me or my age. show off for some girlies?? c'mon now, i take offense to that. your the reason why people have a stereotypical attitude of a "vette owner" i thought the board would be a cool place to talk with people who share the same interest in the vette. i think its rare for kids my age to have a car like this, and most of the time the car is given to the kid by their parents. would you rather me go out and buy an import?!? there should be more kids like me trying to keep the heritage of the american sports cars.

you know nothing about me. so easy for you to say i got the car to show off. i bought the car because ive been around vettes since the day i was born! am i proud im 20 and own a car that most people own when they are 40+..... YES! doesnt mean i think im better than anyone! so whos bragging?!

so forgive me for MY rudeness... but im going to have to call you jealous on this one. so why dont YOU go out and show off to all your OLDER friends!!
