I too have this problem, haven't been able to open it in years, thinking of selling the car this year after 15 years of ownership, any other suggestions? Its not locked, yet will not budge open
I have no suggestions on how to open, but with my car, my latching problems were from the receiving latch hook being able to move, sliding back and out of the correct position, , although it seemed tight with a casual inspection.
if this problem were on my car, I would suspect the latch hook got pushed back enough to hold the lock mechanism, yet didn't provide enough travel to **** the release spring on the lock mechanism. the solution would be to somehow **** the latch that the incorrect receiving hook position prevented. Of course one could simply get another glove compartment door, and teach the old door a lesson it would never forget. Or cut a service hole in the old door, and then cover it up with some bad *** go fast stickers, flaming skulls are always popular. It might be possible to remove the dash and unscrew the latch hook from the outside top, but that sounds like a lot of work.
