I guess I am not the majority, but went to a corvette drag event with 400 miles on my 93. Talk about freak out the purist! That car lasted me 10 years of hard driving and was "faster" than other stock s from different years. Go for it. Also have done aggressive driving with new c5 without concern.
I just bought my Coupe last week. The manual says to drive slowly untill you have 500 miles. I have 465 and will have 500 by tomorrow. After I hit 500 miles, can I floor it? Or.........should I wait till I have more miles, like maybe 1000 or 1500? What do you say?
Jeff
I gradually started increasing the amount of throttle from about 400 mi. but didn't do a full WOT until about 750 mi. or so. I'm very pleased with the way mine now runs.
As long as you didn't get on it too hard in the first 250 miles you will be OK. Hard starts at less than 250 can cause differential and tranny damage. I did my first autocross in my 97 when it had just over 250 miles on it.

Once you're over the 500 miles, I think more importantly would be to ensure that the engine and transmission are up to full operating temperature before yankin' on it... (ie. Don't pull out of the driveway in the morning and smoke the tires up.)
