In a recent thread, a member mentioned that he found his Vette had an extended warranty from the BOD research that Sponge Vette did and he had it transfered in his name for a few bucks. Anyone know the proceedure for doing this? I found out my C5 has one, also, and would like to take advantage of it.

Normally you can contact the warranty company, provide them with the applicable info that you are the new owner, and for a few bucks they will transfer the warranty. You may have to get a dealer to certify the condition of the car.

If you discovered that your car had an extended warranty by having SpongeVette run a service history, then I assume that you have a GMPP. If you have a GMPP - here's a link for the transfer form. You'll have to have the former owner transfer the coverage to you by signing the form. If that's not possible, you might check with Ken Fichtner - he's an expert on the GMPP.
Most people who have an extended warranty, and turn the car in or trade , usually call to cancel the warranty and get a rebate on the remaining amount... Just because a car HAD an extendedwarranty, doesnt mean it is still in effect... but most warrantys are transferable, for a 25 to 50 dollar fee....
If I looked up the info for him and told him that it had a GMPP warranty. I assure you it was still active and not cancelled. I wouldn't of posted the info unless the owner could take advantage of the warranty for only $35.
