Default Sidemarker Lens- How do you remove them????

I just received my amber Euro sidemarker lenses and cannot figure how to remove my red stock ones? I do not see a screw??? On my new Euro Amber ones, I see that you pop them in and maybe give a slight turn to lock them in place..

I can clearly see how to install my tail lights!

Help!!!

Thanks! Paula

You can access the mounting nuts by taking out the outer brake light on the rear fascia.

Remove the outter tail lights and you can get to them right there. Lucky for you you have skinny arms. Mine had a tough time getting down in there.

Ahhhh, I see, it comes off as a unit,.. Good, as I have not installed my Euros yet.. I see they come out with screws....

Might have more questions when I get in there!! I love my Euros! Hopefully will find time today to get them installed!!!

On the convertible, if you have a power antenna you can not get the ppassenger side off by going through the tail light lens because the antenna unit is in the way. I had to remove the rear wheel and the inner fender liner to get at it. I only wished that I had a new bulb to put in at the same time because I don't look forward to having to remove all that stuff again. It also helps if you have a shorty ratchet (like 3 to 4 inches) because there is not a lot of room to maneuver in there. You also have to be careful because the nut used on the lenses are the knod that secures by cutting into the plastic stud on the lens.

Just a note quick here for you Paula, since you own a vert the right sidemarker will be a lot harder and time consuming to remove due to the radio antenna being in the way. I have heard that some people have loosened the radio antenna so they could get better access to the bolts.

What Patches said. Easy to do with the tail light out.

Banish that panic to another website, Paula. This is Corvette Forum. Surely there is an able-bodied member in the vicinity that can lend a hand.

C'mon, guys!

I am fine with everything excepting jacking up the car and taking off the wheel!!!!! Heck, if someone would jack it up, take off the wheel, I can do it, then they would have to put the wheel back on for me! I am only HALF helpless!

[QUOTE=PaulaH]cannot figure how to remove my red stock ones? QUOTE]

My arms are a little thick to match my head. I had a lot of scratches on my arms after I was finished. Also of note, you will be screwing on a nut over virgin plastic. You will see what I mean when you get involved. You might cut the new threads before you try to do it with the piece in place. You will understand. You need long and skinny arms and a small wrench
