Road Trip Stats
Average Speed - 76.9 including fuel and pit stops. Far too many trucks on I-10.
Gas Consumption - 28.7 MPG. I thought that was low but considering the extremely heavy truck traffic and almost no cruise control time on flat highways, it's wasn't bad.
Most LEOs seen - Louisiana
Most LEOs who didn't seem to care about speed - Louisiana - (I was doing 85 when a van got on my tailpipes, so when the traffic opened up I floored up to 95-100 to clear the lane then slowed back down. Turns out it was a Sheriff's van and he just waved as he passed me.)
Worse roads - LOUISIANA (followed by Texas). They haven't resurfaced I-10 since it was built in the 50s/60s. I've got to get my alignment and suspension re-checked after driving in those states. I think Texas is the only state with a Department of Potholes that creates (and not repairs) them.
Cheap Gas - Texas - $1.95 for Chevron Supreme.
Expensive Gas - Florida $2.11 for the same (and that with FL's drop in gas sales taxes, too)
Scariest Moment - Alabama - When Larry, his brother Daryl and his other brother Daryl started eyeing my car at a gas station. "Golly, that's a purdy car."
Best looking women - Texas.
Fewest teeth - Alabama
Vettes seen - only 6 (100% wave factor). Mostly drove at night.
Most fun - a spirited romp with a Mag Red coupe just west of Hammond, LA on I-12. Triple digit fun.
After that - it's
time for me!!!!!!!!

Tuner Golf next week sounds pretty good. I'll check with OOH YEAH. Anyone else is welcome, too, but we should confirm and get a tee time.

Leaving home on the 25th this month on my 3rd annual Carlisle/Bowling Green 2400 mile - 11 day road trip
