My 99 vette with 22k miles, needs two new pistons. The cost from the local dealer is expensive enough that I am seriously considering a 383 transplant from LPE (Lingenfelter). I would like anyone who has ever done business with Lingenfelter to please respond with positive or negative feedback, any type of feedback would be greatly appreciated. The cost for the 383 transplant is way up there, but well worth it if I can be sure it is done right. Thanks.
My car is out of warranty and the dealer is quoting 30 hours of labor & parts. GM "might" pay half. And GM parts will be put back into the car. In another 22k miles, would I experience piston slap once again? I'm considering having Lingenfelter drop a new 383 into my 99. Have you any experience with Lingenfelter?

no, my motor in my trans am broke 2 pistons due to a nitrous problem and i put in a ARE budget 346 for about 3500 total.
if they said they mightpay half, then that means they know they are in the wrong. if you are looking for more power, then get a different motor, but if they replace your motor, the new piston design seems to be less prone to slap like the older ones.
