Default Unique exhaust plates

On my '00 Mag Red coupe, I added SS letters on the back (from SS Inserts- loved 'em!) and also added an exhaust plate from the Chev dealer which had the crossed flags mounted on chrome. Either of these looked great alone but when I looked at them both together, it was just a little too much in my opinion.

So, for my new '04 Mag Red vert, I want to add some rear appearance mods and have decided that I definitely want the SS letters but need some ideas for the underpan.

Does anyone have any pics of the back of your 'Vette with SS letters and a different exhaust plate? Or for that matter, just a different style exhaust plate? Meaning one that doesn't shine like the chrome did. I guess I'm after a little subtlety.

Thanks a lot guys & gals!

What about painting it Mag Red to match your vert and then install a chrome emblem?

Thanks Reb. That's good idea but I'd be nervous to try it 'cause Mag Red is so tough to match. Even if you get the paint code from GM, it doesn't always look exactly right.

I'd like to try to stay away from anything real "shiney" for the underpan.

Then maybe just flat or glossy black with a nice chrome emblem. That is what I was going to do with mine until I made my own from stainless steel.

Some of the vendors sell the exhaust plates painted to match the color of your car. Would look nice between the exhaust.

Here's my color matched exhaust plate. Picked it up from Eckler's.

What do you attach the exhaust plates to? Do you buy the big ($390)plates that bolt onto the OEM exhaust pipes and then attach the Enhanced painted plates which have peel 'n stickum on the back?

My plate has a 50th AE logo, a routed border and Corvette written on it. I know it's chrome but....

Default Why all the flags and Corvette Logo's ??????

First of all I am a vette owner but wonder why so many vette owners insist on putting every gody flag and vette logo plastered all over their car? It makes a great car look cheap. I used to be a porsche owner and you never saw that. Just my opinion, and many others

That's what makes life so interesting, we don't all have to agree on this kind of stuff. To each his own.

SRGVETTE I agree with you. An exhaust plate is o.k. Extra emblems and shiny letters just does not do it for me.
