Default Air Dam Removal

Just wondering what the downside to removing the air dam would be. It scrapes every time I back out of my driveway and its starting to drive me nuts. Have any of you done this?

Thanks

Your engine will run a lot hotter without it. Change your driveway if you have to, but leave the dam on.

The air flow to your radiator will be disrupted. The air dams are relatively easy and inexpensive to replace. I would leave it on and once it gets to looking really crummy, just replace it.

I think I read somewhere that it is there for better cooling and helps stablize the car under high speeds.

It also lowers your coefficent of drag. It is designed to scrape,
the center section pivots to fold back if need be, and they are
inexpensive to replace.

Why go through all the scraping and investments when there is a better sytem called the Big Mouth Air Dam , improved CFM , improved cooling to all your coolers and performance ! And the best part you can enjoy driving without the scaping check it out

Here is a picture of the install with frame Savers as well , thanks

Yes if you really want to remove your front air dam then I would install the big mouth.

Not at all , its completely the oppssite effect ! The Big Mouth seals that area off from picking up road trash or water and because of its shape and position ( there is no terbulance ). Plus now its 1.5 feet away from the front tires ( no splash ).

How do you figure that? The stock air dam does the same thing only on a larger scale. The big mouth is smaller but more focused and is not pointing as much at the ground, like the center air dam is.
