Default Here's the white turn/parking light with diffuser.

I found I had some diffuser material and in between caliper rebuilds on another car I did this. I'd liked to have left the diffuser clear with just the diamond effect, but the area behind it is rather ugly, so I frosted it to a bit. I cut it to fit the entire area--top to bottom, unlike the original amber so that it would not be able to move at all, if the bonding comes loose. The little tab of diffuser material on the left is to facilitate repeated installs and removals for fitting; it will be cut off next. Then, the whole thing reglued and sealed.

Unfortunately, I have to leave town this weekend to go drive a friend's car at B'ville Speed Week (darn!) and won't get a chance to do the left one and install until I return. I'll post pix of the car when finished.

All the best.

Is it possible to get a "How-To" for that? I have been wanting to do it for quite some time, but I don't want to ruin my current lights.

Oh, and it looks GREAT

Here you go, This "How-To" was created by C5 Frederik the originator of the clear turn signal

How to make you own clear front turn signals

Thanks for finding Frederik's post. I couldn't find it.

I was delayed a bit getting out of town, so this brief follow-up. You can see from this pic below, that I did it rather differently than did Frederik, making sealing less complicated and not requiring any added on "cap," etc.

After I cut off the diffuser tab, I'll grind the "diamond" design off the edge of the diffuser where it is to be glued to the housing, both roughening it and thinning it a little. This will make it about the thickness of the actual cut, maintaining the factory curvature and shape of the light. I'll probably use one of JBWeld's or similar epoxy putty to bond it all together and seal it up. As I say, I'll post pix before "bolting" up he finished piece and of the car when done.

For those who want a little more detail, I posted another thread a couple days ago that should be back the line a ways. I'd add that it would be good to experiment on a "trash" light, if you are not particularly adept at such tasks, and cover the clear lens with a couple layers of masking tape before starting; also, lay it on a folded towel to work. Again, take your time and it is readily doable.

As to why these aren't sold by a vendor, I'd guess: 1) liability/DOT issues, 2) labor intensive, to the point of probably not being profitable (at least, wouldn't be if I had to do it... by hand).

After returning and installing, I can do a detailed "how-to" from start to finish, if anyone is interested. Let me know.

Good luck.

You might check the state vehicular statutes of your state before you do it . . . LEO might find it interesting

Default Clear marker lights.

In California you would have to use an amber bulb for it to be legal. The vehicle code here says that any side marker light within 24 inches of the rear of the vehicle must be red in color when illuminated. All other side marler lights must be amber in color when illuminated. You may want to check the laws in your particular state.

there is no need to check on this one. All he is doing is replacing the amber plastic with a clear piece then you plug in an amber bulb, you get the same result as if it were stock.
