Default Convertible in Canada?

The weather in Canada is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It like to be cruising in a topless all summer, but how is a convertible doing when it gets colder?

Will the tissue get damaged from the cold?

Will it be a problem to keep the car varm in the cabin, when it's really cold outside?

Is driving in an enclosed convertible too noisy when you go on long drives?

Thanks for helping out a "soon to be Corvette owner"!

I've had mine for four years in Calgary. No problems here!

Default My take

Buy the convert and enjoy it, you will be fine. As a new 04 convert owner even if I only get 4-5 months of topless enjoyment cool or warm it is still worth it for me.

Not a problem. It's the best sports car on the planet. And it has all the creature comforts. It's quiet compared to any other 2 seater. And there's a 350 hp engine which will give you plenty of heat in the winter. Buy one and enjoy the ride. My .02
And welcome to the best forum on the net for learning about the car. Lots of Canadians here too. Miles of smiles and good hunting for a car.

I have had a ragtop since 2000, on the east coast for 3 years which sees a lot colder than I have seen here. I have found there is no difference between a hard top and a 'vert in the cold. Just turn the heat on.

Will the tissue get damaged from the cold?

No, in extreme cold you wont be putting the roof down anyway, so it wont crack.

Will it be a problem to keep the car varm in the cabin, when it's really cold outside?

See above.

Is driving in an enclosed convertible too noisy when you go on long drives?

Not a real noticeable difference. Turn up the stereo if it bothers you.
