Default Too Bad About Merging all the Column Lock Threads

The merged column lock threads now consist of 14 pages that no one will take the time to read. There were some pretty informative threads that could help forum members dealing with this problem but they are buried so deep between the "do it and don't do it" posts that no one will be helped by some of the info that would help them when taking their Vettes to the dealer. An example of this is the thread I started Friday about my trip to the dealer and them conducting the wrong procedure. It is now on page 11 of 14. There are others that should have not been merged that would help forum members who open the thread and would be able to read the initial post.

I was thinking the same thing.

MTI posted the extremely valuable information about the recall programming wiping out custom PCM tunes in the Tech section (where the highest percentage of people have custom tunes), and it got shuffled into the giant column lock thread here. (it wasn't even about the column lock..only the programming changes done during the recall).

I think that message was more than important enough for the Tech section to see, if not even stickied. Finding out your custom tune is now wiped out and your car no longer runs is most definitely performance related, and the people that most need that info rarely if ever venture into the General section.

I don't understand it at all.

I know Mark will lock this when he sees it, but IMO he's probably the one who needs to see it.

The thread I referred to has nothing at all to do with the column lock.

I did and I did

But have also been talking with people about the issue....don't know what's worse, needing an entire section dedicated to the CL issue or a 14 page thread that people SHOULD read but won't for whatever reason....damned if we do and damned if we don't....it's not like this is a new issue and the 14 page thread isn't the only one out there....a search will turn up many more pages that people will most likely ignore.
