have a 98 convertible C5, after new top was installed, major leaks and no results from installer. Heard that this was a problem with 98s, anyone got a suggestion on how to fix this one?

Welcome to the Forum!
Haven't heard of anyone having major problems either. Three things come to mind - condition of weather stripping, top adjustment and window adjustment. I would suggest you look at the weather stripping first then adjust the top and/or windows as necessary. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, I would suggest that you buy a set of the GM Service Manuals (published by Helm) if you don't already have a set. Weather strip replacement and adjustment procedures will be in the Service manual. Otherwise, I would suggest you look around for a competent repair facility to do the work for you.
Good luck with the repairs!
