I going to put HRE'S on my Z06 and did not know BFgoodrich made a tire in the sizes i'm looking for. The tire sizes i'll be putting on will be are 275/35/18 fronts and 295/35/19 rears.Which tire is better the BFgoodrich G-force KDW (NT Tread) or the Michelin Pilot sport.Keep in mind my Z never sees wet roads so i'm looking for the best dry handling tire with minimal road noise and fair wear. All i've experienced so far are the Goodyear F-1 Supercar tires and i could live with those just fine. I thought the F-1 was a awsome tire and want to find a tire that's closest the the goodyear in these sizes and performance. Greg

I've got the KDW's although in the stock sizes. They are great tires - quiet, sticky and less expensive than this Michelin's. Also - they have a very aggressive looking tread for those who are into that sort of thing.
However I cannot compare the two - as I have not experienced the Pilot Sport 2, which I would guess to be comparable.
Take away the French connection...after that, they are great tires, I havn't owned them all, but my Pilots work great for how I use them.
I had heard bad reports regarding slippage in the wet with the BFG's, so I opted for Michelins...but would of preferred BFG's!
I would go with the BFG KD NOT the KDW. The KD is specified as a dry traction tire and KDW is combo wet/dry. The KD is better in dry conditions. I have these tires and am very happy with them. I had stock size kuhmos that my Magna really lit up. So I got wider rims and now have the KDs and traction is greatly improved over the kuhmo. Bottom line - the BFG are great tires and I think are better than the Michelins and cheaper.

I have those same size Michelins on my Z. Great ride, good traction, and quiet !!
Second C5 I have had that I replaced with the Michelin's and no complaints.
check the ratings on the tire.. the one that wont last as long will stick harder. Mich tires have always lasted for me but simply spun like crazy. To hard of a tire to me.
I hope those who are saying get the Pilot Sports have actually had both!
I had the Michelan Pilot Sports (non-runflats)on my HRE's and I HATED them. Loud and that traction SUCKED IMO. And they are not nearly as wide.
As I stated, never had BFG's, but my Pilots were/are superior to the stock EMT's. Quiet, and better traction.
On my Pilots, I've roadraced with them several times...I was imppressed.
On public mountain roads in norther AZ. they gripped very well
I've had Pilot Sports on my '94 (275/40/17s & 315/35/17s) , and they were the best tires that I have ever owned. They do have rounded edges which makes for slightly smaller surface contact area. It didn't matter, they hooked awesome strait and in the turns.
The BFG KDs are awesome tires as well. My roommate has them on his '99 WS6.
