Default Suggestions on Mod Plan

Ok I've recently picked up my 01 Z. Love the car but I have issues with leaving things stock, even a car as sweet as this one
I've had a 420rwhp 01 WS6 and a 12 second Lt1 and BMW's etc etc modded them all. Its always a learning experience I wasted ALOT of money on my LT1 car buying and rebuying stuff it was kinda crazy.

As a guy that has always been into drag racing I would like it to be fast but I had a "peaky" Ls1 and I'm truely enjoying the LS6 so I don't want a motor that has to be rapped to 7K to get it to move if you know what I mean. Also I may try some road course track day type stuff. Take a race driving class with someone elses car first then try mine out

So just wanted before I get started to ask you all what you thought a good plan was based on experiences with the Z... Here are my thoughts so far:

1.CLB car is not under warranty might as not have to deal with this.
2.Frame saver thingys from A & A my car is LOW.
3.HP Tuners thing runs hot as heck and GAGS sucks I'm going to need it anyways might as well get it first.
4. New shifter Opinions??
5.Some kind CAI any suggestions? Is this a worthwhile mod on an Z?
6. Kooks or LG headers, love the stock cat back but its quiet, is it worth a different cat back or is it just sound improvements?
7. ASP pulleys anybody have any issues with these??
8. Probably a FMS cam package either an fm11 (228/230) or a FM13 (230/232) with new puchrods, dual springs, titanium retainers.
9. Clutch with light flywheel, probably a Mcloed just cause you can rebuild it for cheap...

I'm thinking this will give me a very nice streetable ~420rwhp car, if I want more I could add AFR heads but the LS6 heads flow pretty nice out of the box. After the cost of the car is absorbed I could see doing a SC but that would be a 2-3 years away. These mods would be much more bottom end friendly and in my experience SC costs add up quickly so this would probably be cheaper then a SC to start out with.

What do you guys think, please feel free to chat on different items or even different plans with reasoning as well I appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks!

Bobby

What type of budget are you looking at, and what type of timeframe to get everthing where you want it to be at? If your ready to take the plunge now, you've got some great options right now. If you don't want to s/c and want a nice h/c setup, take a look....

Both forum vendors, and both have excellent reputations. I would sooooo jump in on one of these deals if I had the extra cash. (Anyone have 6k I can borrow? )

You've done your apprenticeship before you came to the forum, the mods are right on instead of the HP tuner you might want to research some other brands like the Vinci model at www.vincihighperformance.com this programmer has many capabilities I've used this programmer and have nothing but good results.
