i do the opposite -- i tell the wife the big items that may never get acquired like a S/C & long tubes and scare her with lowering, paint jobs, wings, trading in for a c6, etc. and she doesn't mind the smaller stuff.
ur mod disease will only get worse...might as well see if the SO can help.

I have that tactic and didn't realize it till now.
And for your reading entertainment, here are some emoticons that best describe my wife's usual responses to my mod-fever... :mad
I told my wife that something is wrong with the muffler so I bought a Borla Stinger , then I told her again that the lettering on the front and rear are hard to read so I bought a Brakelight red and on and on...
My wife just sees it as permission to go out and buy stuff for herself, so every mod winds up costing me twice as much... Better than the alternative, though.
That's classic!! But, I'm sure she's not stupid (no Corvette owner would ever marry a stupid gal). What are ya gonna tell her when she sees all of these new things on the Vette? Come clean my man. It will be better for you in the long run. Besides, women understand . . . don't they?
Once I told my wife the car was making a noise and had to take it in. I had the headers and corsa exhaust put on. The next time I told her I needed to have the oil changed. I had the torque converter and 3:42 gears put in. She never asked why it took so long to get an oil change.
We are so much happier this way.

Wow...that is classic. Love it.
My problem is that my GF is my business partner and when i get things shipped to the office I get busted instantly. Especially when I use paypal and use her credit card.....hee hee
I need some good excuses to mod the vette....I think she will know if I get some long tube headers....she is pretty smart (for a female) (J/K). Actually she has been "learning" a lot about cars and mods....
I need some rims and some headers....what can i tell her? Should I just run into a curb and destroy a rim? HELP
