Default Key fob question

I've been having trouble with my key fob not staying synced. I can sync it and it will unlock the doors but after that, it stops working and I have to sync it again. I just noticed something strange - when I lock it, the lights blink twice now. It never did that before. Does that mean something? Is my car trying to tell me something?

When mine started acting goofy, I replaced the Fob battery. Reprogramming after that, all was fine. Don't know about the lights blinking twice.

I got a new battery a few months ago and that didn't help. Any other ideas?

Maybe you could stop by a dealer and see if they can use one of there's to sync with your car, and see if that fob works. If so, you need a new fob. The replacement ignition key and fob for my 97 Camaro was $60 total.

This common problem is often caused by weak battery connections. When you jar the fob, it loses contact briefly. Open the fob and carefully bend the contacts to put more pressure on the battery. Bet this will fix it.

My son's 99 fob that he has been using primarily does the exact same thing; blinks lights twice. I put a new battery in it and it still does the same as yours. I just told him to begin using the second fob all the time and put away the bad one. Guess they wear out?

I replaced the batteries a couple of times, within a week just to rule out bad batteries...been working great ever since. Also, I did the re-sync and DIC procedures...both!!

Check e-bay. If they don't have any I have a spare I bought for my 2000 vert off of e-bay. I paid 45.00 for it. Will sell it for 45.00 plus shipping. Check your numbers and let me know

Check www.keylessride.com. I checked their website for an 04coupe and it showed dealership price 94.00. Their price 19.00. I've never needed to buy another remote so I've never used this company. Their site says they are factory remotes.
