I ordered the heavyweights yesterday (shale for my 04 CE)--fronts and cargo. Got them mainly for better protection and looks--any sound deadening will just be a plus. I'll provide feedback after they are installed. It will be a week or so before I get them.
I would like to get a set too. Where did you order yours from. Seems not everone sells them.
Got them at West Coast Corvettes. They don't stock the heavy weights, so they have to be ordered. They don't list them on their website (at least I don't think so). Just call them and ask. One of the guys on our forum reported significant sound reduction--that is a pretty subjective topic, unless it's measured. I am going to attempt a before and after decobel reading at specific speeds and same roadway.
I have shale Lloyds for the front and cargo area. They are regular and not the heavyweights. I wonder how much different the two versions are ? Anybody have the heavyweights ?
1/2" pile vs. 5/16" and the heavy weights have an extra layer called sound deadening material. Do a google search and you will find cross section views of the two.
If I remember, I think the Heavyweight mats are only about $10 more than the regular Lloyd's mat.
What color emblem did you have them embroider? The CE's have a special Silver C5 logo, but I'm not sure how that would look. The black emblem may or may not look mismatched? A Blue emblem if available might look good if its the right shade of blue..??? Just curious!
Can you post pics when you receive and "install" them?

I went with the silver emblem--yes, I will take pics when I get them.
Lloyds are the "best" - had mine for over 1 yr...no wear or tear...
And yes, they do deaden the sound
As thick as they are and the areas they cover, they should help deaden the sound. As stated above, I am going to measure the difference (before and after) on same surfaces, speeds, etc.--as scientific as I can do it. I am certain the placibo effect makes them feel/sound quieter, I want facts--one of my contributions to this super forum.
Well, since most of the noise comes from the back, I don't see how they could reduce noise a whole lot.
How heavy are they? I just sent a set of cocomats back because they weighed 12 pounds. That doesn't sound like much, but it is a lot of weight to have in mats! I think the stock mats weigh less than a pound. Of course the cocomats covered the entire floor, and were really well made -- looked great in black and red. I hated to send them back, but when I picked them both up I realized that 12 pound mats were really heavy!!

all you had to do to equalize the weight was to run 2 less gallons of gas
