The trade in allowance sounds too good to be true, but I trust that you are not paying ANYWHERE near the sticker. From previous posts, you should be able to get a Z16 for the $44K range, if not less. The only way that paying anywhere near sticker and getting an exagerated trade in allowance would make any sense is if you were able to write any of the car's depreciatioon off on your tax returns. Just my $.02.
if it is your car +23k cash then the real price for your trade is 24k. (23+24=47K which is what the highest cash price should be) Bet you can sell it outright for that pretty easy
But don't feel bad. The local dealers around here still want sticker for what they have. (less the 3k rebate )
Goto gmbuypower.com and search the area for the car. Shop them all and compare it to Rick Daniels price (kerbecks looks like they are sold out)
The thing with great new car discounts is used prices also suffer
Give Gary Enck a call at Gary Enck Chevrolet, Coppertown, New York 607 547 2277. Small Chevrolet Dealer who not only knows and loves Corvettes, but sells alot of them. I talked to him about 12 days ago and he had 2 new Z16's. Good Luck.Save the Wave.>George
Z16 commemorative with a sticker of 57485...trading an '02 coupe w/17k on the odometer in excellent condition.how does 34k trade allowance sound?
I can wholeheartedly tell you this: Get the Z! I had an '02 Coupe,
purchased new in '01, and I traded it in this past February to get my
new '04 Z06. The Z is an amazing car; it's a LOT more fun to drive
than the Coupe. I even lost $6K on the trade in (upside down) and
ended up paying what amounted to sticker for the Z. But, I'd do it
over again in a heartbeat because the Z's worth it. It's an incredible
car; you won't regret getting it. Good luck!
thanks for the input,guys!update...they took 6200 off the sticker, and are allowing me 30k for my '02.i've dealt with other nearby dealers, and this is the best to this point.i think that the obvoius bump in prestige(the Z06 versus the coupe is worth a couple of bucks,no?i also believe that geography plays a part in the entire scenario.i could see drop shipping from somewhere else might work with no trade;but the sales taxtax has to come into the picture, too!i'm listening...thanks

Your best bet is to sell your car to someone privately.....
A dealer won't give you anything for yours....
For a CE Z06, you should be able to knock $13,000 of the MSRP w/ rebates and loyalty programs.
