Hey all, just picked up a 2000 Coupe last fall and now joined Vette Forum. My last Vette was a 1980 Black Coupe, I can't believe the differance. This car rides and handles waaaaaay better. Love it. It had 11.5k on the clock when I found it. Have a couple things I thought I would ask about here.
1-Do they all have the ratteling sound when you shut down the engine with the clutch out?
2-Is there others out there with a problem in the turn signal / 4 way flasher button. Signals don't always work. I can play with 4 way button to get them to work again. Thanx
Billy
1. Yeah the ol' marbles in the tranny noise is very common. From what I've been told there's nothing you can do about it. You finally get where you don't notice it anymore.
2. I think you have something special here as I have not heard of this problem before. Sounds like a contact or shorting out problem. I would have a pro look at it rather than tear into the column myself. Good luck with the fix.

Thanx Bill!
The dealer installed a new column signal switch when the car had 5K on the clock. Big bucks....didn't solve the problem. It works 90% of the time its just that 10% that bugs me. Thats when the shoe's are watching!
The four way flasher unit doubles as the turn signal flasher. So you are right to presume that this could be the problem. Others here have had the problem. It's a real PIA to get to. You have to take the dash apart to get to it. Staring at the console and working toward the dash. If you go to vetteessentials.com they have "how to's" on how to change your dash bezel's. And that how to takes apart the dash in the same manner. Good luck and keep us posted. You never know you may find a loose connection. Since they do work most of the time.
