Hi;
I've read about the gauge problems but mine is a little differant. I think.My gas gauge worked perfect till yesterday.!999 vert with 24000 miles. Well any way gas gauge read about a little under 1/4 of a tank. Stopped to fill up it took 15 gals. Left gas station and reset the fuel. gauge went to 1/2 tank and range went to 256. Got home shut car off. Next morning gas gauge goes to full I thought wow no problems but range only went to 276 miles. next time I shut the car off and back on it went to full but only 298 on range. Now while driving the gauge does go down but the range don't follow. Shut the car off and restart it and it goes back to full??? Bought a bottle of Techron for the next refill.I have ex. warr. they said that the would honor it if GM does on there ex. warr.Also read about reprogram the pcm.Sorry this is so long just looking for some answers. Thanks
I agree with the "have it checked out" advice if its under warranty. I've found that the "range" reading follows the gas gauge reading. Not sure why your's seems to be different. By the way, why wait for the next full-up to add the Techron. Add it anytime in a ratio of one ounce Techron per gallon of gas. Good Luck!

Since you have a warranty, get it checked out. May involve replacing the sending units, which are quite expensive if you had to do it on your own dime.
Just for giggles, try unhooking your battery and checking the charge. Make sure the battery is reading at least 12.5 volts. If it isn't, throw a charger on it. Rehook it up and see what happens...I had the problem you did, and all it was for me was a nearly dead battery. Good luck
