[QUOTE=ArmyVette]SS Inserts are best. They're a Forum vendor with a link on the left side of your screen.

SS Inserts probably sells the best, but you can get them from Ecklers, Mid-America, etc.

Default Rear Letters

Got my rear SS letters from Corvettes of Houston, quality was very good. The letters came with the instructions for prepping and a tube of adhesive activator. The prep is easy: clean the bumper recesses with alcohol and allow to dry, coat each recess with the supplied adhesive activator and allow to dry, peel and place letters.

Note: be careful of the placement of the small center bars of the "E"s. If these are not centered top to bottom in their recess they will reflect the light differently than the rest of the letter and almost appear to be missing from certain angles. This happened to me on one "E", I removed, cleaned and reapplied this piece and now all is well. The "CORVETTC" is once again a "CORVETTE".

Well put---especially use caution regarding 2nd paragraph.

If I ever decided to remove them, does the inserts DAMAGE the paint or if I screw up, can I redo the install without doing any damage to the car or paint.

Does the alcohol damage the paint?

Thanks.

The alcohol definitely does not damage the paint, it does remove any wax buildup on paint surface that would inhibit bonding. The adhesive activator also did not appear to affect the paint on the one letter I removed and replaced.

My advice is to take care to only get the activator inside the recesses (just in case). I used a small model paint brush, it worked perfectly.

Can you guys please tell me which letters are the best with the best quality and easy install and where I can get them from.

Why not have them painted? I've seen this done and it looks much better IMHO
