Question: If I'm reading them right, the instructions say not to change the factory springs. I've heard that changing the springs is a must. I plan on installing a Hurst shifter very soon myself. Any ideas on this? Thanks.

Not sure exactly what you mean... the hurst has springs in it that are adjustable. I left them alone (didn't change from how they were set out of the box) and I find the shift effort excellent - firm, precise, no slop. You will LOVE this mod!!!
Change the springs to adjust the Hurst tension to your preference. I left the springs that came in the Hurst for a while to see if I needed to go harder or softer. Ultimately, I went to the softer spring setup. You can experiment until you find the right combo for yourself.
As always, Patches is DA MAN!!! BTW, I put the softest set of springs in my Hurst and it's perfect for me, but to be honest, I really couldn't notice much difference between the soft and firm springs.

Eric . . . I have to have a demo on yours . . . I am running out of mods hope things are going well . . .
Patches tutorial is the best I have seen and used. Here's what a Hurst looks like with a MGW **** and a Vette Essentials short shifter boot. You'll have to take my word on how great it feels in the hand.
