Default Which Exhaust System ?

Any info about choosing an exhaust system? Performance, hp increase, low e/t not my main priority. I do not race the car, I do goose it on the parkway, but that's about the extent of it. Exhaust note/sound is main priority. My Mustang (Borla exhaust) sounds better than my vette. I know the name Borla, but are there others that sound better on a Corvette? I am new to the Corvette, and do not know if Borla does as well on a Corvette as it does on a Mustang. Mid-America carries Corsa and Billy Boat. Any info abouit them?
I like a deep throaty authoritive exhaust, without being real loud. (like a cobra)
Any opinions?
Bob

Go with the Borlas. I have Quad Round Stingers and it really makes the Corvette like a Corvett e should.

If you're new to these cars, remember to wave when you see another Corvett e!

I vote for the Corsa Indy. No resonance while cruising yet screams at WOT

Good luck!

I have B&B PRT's with an "X" pipe on my car and the sound is perfect. It really roars at wide open throttle, purrs at steady speeds and has little to no interior resonance.

Borla stingers are popular, the Borla Xr1 is louder and the B&B Bullets& Slp's are the loudest. Be carefule withe adding an X-pipe it will quiet the exhuast quite a bit. From what you've said I think the B&B PRt's are good..they have a muslce care idle,,no resonance and scream nice at WOT...I have heard the Corsa's and didn't like them.

of course the safest bet would be to go to a vette show or meet etc..and listen in person and then you'll know what you want. I have the SLP Loudmouth (no x-pipe) and they are loud as sh** and I don't even have headers yet

In deference to your being new here - we'll say this again....

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. The advice you'll get on this topic (along with a few others like which aftermarket shifter, MN6 vs A4, which body style, etc.) is based generally on the person's personal experience with what they have.

So my advice is this...

Go to a place where a lot of Vettes have gathered, listen to several different systems at WOT, idle, cruise and decide which one you like! Some guys want it LOUD and OBNOXIOUS! Others want a muscle car sound at idle. Still others want no sound at all at cruise. Pick the one you like after you've heard them all! Good luck!

I currently have GHL Magnums (dual tip) and found them to be a nice rumble that reminds me of a turbo style muffler. They are pretty quiet at highway speeds, but have a deep, mellow rumble when the engine is under load. For my personal tastes, I find the Magnums to be a good improvement over stock, yet they are simply too quiet overall. I have a set of Billy Boat Bullets sitting in the garage that I will be installing later on today. The Bullets remind me of straight pipes with glass pacs since they have internal resonators built in.

One thing that seperates the Billy Boat Bullets from the rest, that I have noticed, is the way they are manufactured and mounted. Most of the aftermarket cat-backs use clamps to secure the sections togather, while the Bullets have mounting flanges at the ends of each section and are actually bolted together at each connection. Having bolts instead of clamps is something I find highly attractive (I had part of an exhaust system fall off on the highway once because it was clamped in place).

Lots of good advice here, just be sure to pick what is right for you.

Thanks for the great input about the different systems. There are many available, and it is tough to choose without hearing each one, but a general opinion is helpfull. It narrows the search.
And I promise to wave.
Thanks,
Bob
