I burned a CD the other day. The last track on the CD was 'we will rock you' by Queen. When I tried to listen to the CD in the car, it started to skip and pretty much crapped out when it got to this track (all the other tracks were fine).
So, I figured maybe there's something wrong with the CD and burned a second copy. Same thing.
Then I burned a 3rd CD, this time shuffling the songs and putting the Queen track in the middle. Same thing! All the other tracks played just fine.
What's up with that???
BTW, I was able to play all 3 CDs without any problems on my computer, home stereo system, and my daily driver.
Beats me why it would do it on just one track, but it most likely is the cd changer if it works fine in three other devices. Chevy just didn't put in the best stereo system in this car.
Was the last track everytime? Try putting one less track on the CD and see if it plays correctly.
No, it wasn't the last track ever time. The 3rd CD had the track somewhere in the middle. I made a 4th CD today with just that song (no other tracks) and it still didn't work. The original CD, however, plays just fine. This is creepy...
make another CD only this time put bohemian rhapsody on it and see if the vette can spot the Queen track...
But seriously. Each time you make a CD from where do you get the we will rock you track? Is it ripped off of a CD or from an mp3? If it's from the same source each time then I'd say there is a problem with the translation of that track from whatever that source is. Try to find another copy of the we will rock you track from somewhere else and I bet it will work.

Probably has something to do with the bitrate of the original rip. I've had problems with converting mp3's ripped at below 128 to AIFF or WAV and getting them to play on my non-mp3 head unit. My solution is to find a version that has been ripped at 128 to 320, then burn it to CD using NERO and it plays fine.

Well, I've tried just about everything.
The first few CDs I made were copied straight from the original CD.
Since then, I've used the original CD to create MP3 files at various bit rates...and then ripped my CD from these MP3 files. Again, no luck.
I even thought maybe there's something wrong with my computer or software...so I ran the same experiments on my work computer with a whole different software. No luck.
I've given up now. I've already spent too much time on this and the world is not going to end if I can't listen to Queen in the car.
No ideas here. I have a Queen "Greatest Hits" CD in my car (Pioneer CD player) and another compilation CD with "Princes of the Universe" on it, and they both play with no problems.
I just need more BASS so that "WWRY" plays appropriately at the drag strip!
