Can somebody please tell me what a "pushrod" engine is? I keep reading in the car magazines how Chevy is "still" using the pushrod-type engine...but, as opposed to what???
I'm sorry for being so naive...I know you guys in the forum know your stuff, but frankly, much of this discussion is new to me. If you could at least point me in the direction of a website that goes into that explanation, I'd sure appreciate it.

Chevy is still using a pushrod engine as opposed to a multi valved over head cam engine.
Yes, the LS1 and LS6 engines are push rod design. The book All Corvettes Are Red by James Schefter speaks to some of the reasons behind GM's decision to stay with the push rod design for the C5 engines.
