Welcome, drmgoat! Check out my moniker - MyOwn69.
I picked that because that's what I have, my own (I'm the original owner) 1969 Palladium Silver GTO convertible - 400 c.i., 4-speed.
Just had it out to the Tri-Power Nationals last weekend in Norwalk. More GTO's than you could ever believe!
Just got back today from the Flood City Corvette Club show in Johnstown, PA. Had to be close to 100 Corvettes - what a way to spend weekends!
To post pics, you need to have them hosted on a server on the internet. You can't attach a pic here. Then you link to the url of the pic by placing it in between the [img]***[/img] tags. (Your url would be the ***.)
Ok a stupid question. Been through the FAQ's and must have missed something. I don't have permission to include an attachement with a post. how do I put up the pics?
Hi, welcome to the club. Corvettes are the only cars I've never gotten tired of driving, no matter how long I've owned one. You can post pics by uploading them to one of the free hosting sites (I'm using photobucket.com these days) and pasting in the IMG URL. I would like to see pics of your car as its my second favorite color!
Congrats on a couple of great rides! Post pics of the Goat. I think you'd probably find that with a bunch of car guys around here you'd have a 99% jealousy factor on that ride. Welcome to the Forum
Congratulations!!!!!!! I also have a new 04 Spiral Gray. I love the color, and have had a lot of compliments. I've put almost 6,000 miles on mine in just three months, including a trip to FL. I think you will find a lot of excuses to just go cruising. I do every chance I get. Enjoy.
Great color and welcome aboard! I also bought a new 04, what was your reason for doiing so? Just curious, as a number of members have also done the same.
Drivetrain is the stock 400 with mild build, Muncie 4spd, I added: Poly bushings, boxed control arms, lowered it 1.5" all around, Power Discs, 1 3/4" sway bar in front, 1 1/4" sway bar in back, 7X15 up front, 8X15 out back. There are a few other goodies in there too. It handles great. Not your typical '60s goat anymore. Oh yeah...except for the paint, all the work was done in my 2-car garage.

I'm already thinking about my first set of mods, z06 sway bars, stingers, etc.. and I'm gonna have to do something about that sound system. I drove it 120 miles yesterday and had to quit because it hurt to smile so much. The car is simply awesome!
Congrats on the new ride!! Great choice of color, BTW! I can tell you right now that you will get used to the smiling. You won't stop, but it won't hurt at all after you get used to it!! It looks like it's already too late to warn you about the Mod Bug. Just make sure you get some pics posted ASAP!
with Patches. I'm more jealous of the goat. I had a '67 400 tripower etc...Very nice choice in the Vette color as well. I too have a MSG coupe...Congrats !
I went with a new '04 C5 for a couple of reasons. First, I'm not a fan of the C6 looks. I've seen them at numerous events now and just can't come to grips with that front end. The C6 may grow on me but right now the front end looks to much like a ricer. A 'vette was meant to have hidden headlights. Second, I'm a hands on car-guy through and through. The C5 and LS1 will have affordable mods available forever and lots of folks with experience to draw on. If this car makes it through the winter in stock form, it'll be a record for me. Third, with the C6 heading into the showroom, the time to deal on an '04 is now. I didn't figure to have many more chances to land a new 'vette 'vert that's fully optioned for 45g. Finally, this is just one sweeeeet ride!!
