With any aftermarket shifter you are going to get more noise than the stock shifter. But you will definately get shorter throws and a more precise shift.

If you're getting rattles or vibration through the stock shifter there is not one aftermarket shifter on the market that will be any quieter for you. Even the Mallett.
Hey, I didn't put the Stingers on to quiet the car down!
If I put an aftermarket shifter in, drivetrain noise transfer through the shifter is not an issue...I was just wondering if someone had ran into a stock shifter rattle, like I have.
Something has come loose or is rubbing up against something. The noise was not there until just over 12k miles. It is a very noticeable rattle under acceleration and just plain annoying at a constant speed, plus your arm gets tired pushing down on the d--n thing!
Thanks for the input! Somebody got a used Mallet shifter for sale or trade for a slightly used stocker?!

Is the key that holds the **** in place secure? Check it under the shift pattern emblem on the ****. Otherwise I don't know what else could be loose. The C5 shifter is a simple design so not much else could go wrong.
